1960-1969

We lived in a variety of places during the 1960s. Dad worked for DeKalb and then the Conservation Department and then the Health Department. We moved around about every two years which was something I to do up until 1999. Bruce, my little brother, was born in 1960. During this period of time we lived in Poplar Bluff, Bevier, Macon, Hillsboro, Cardwell, and Desoto. All in Missouri. Then, in 1969 we moved to Louisville, Kentucky. I was in the 10th grade.

1970-1979

I finished high school in the early 1970s and started college. I was in the Navy during those first few years of college. I finished college, got married to my first wife, worked in Television for a few years, joined the Marines, and became a father. I lived in Louisville, Kentucky, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Austin, Texas, Little Rock, Arkansas, and San Diego, California during these years.

1980-1989

As the decade changed, I was still in the Marines. I received a service connected medical discharge from the Corps in 1982 and went back to work in television. My daughter was born that year also. During the next couple of years, I went through a divorce and custody battle and won physical custody of my son and daughter. I went to graduate school and received a Masters of Science in Mass Communication and then started teaching college in 1987. I also remarried and then, after less than two years, went through another divorce. During this decade I had lived in San Diego, California, Quantico, Virginia, Redfield, Arkansas, Conway, Arkansas, Jonesboro, Arkansas, Philippi, West Virginia, and Cardwell, Missouri.

1990-1999

The beginning of the 1990s saw me leaving West Virginia and returning to Cardwell, Missouri. I taught at Southeast Missouri State University before taking a position at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. I remarried again in 1991. While in Jefferson City, I began work on a doctorate in Communication at the University of Missouri in Columbia. The early and mid 1990s saw Mary and I become published authors. For a full list of our publications check out our publications page. I took a position in Pittsburg, Kansas at Pittsburg State Univerasity in 1993. I became ill in 1995 and the kids decided they wanted to live with their mother. Mary and I sold the house, bought an RV and headed West ending up in Boulder City, Nevada living in an RV park on Lake Meade in the National Park. In 1998, Mary and I sold the RV and moved back to Cardwell, Missouri, and I went back to work for KAIT-TV in Jonesboro, Arkansas as a producer. In 1999 we moved to Columbia, Missouri and I became an IT consultant.

2000-2010

I did some consulting during the early 2000s before I went to work for the County Employees' Retirement Fund. I hired two young men from India while there and I went to India in 2004 to attend the wedding of one of them. In 2005 I turned to Freelance Web development. In 2008 the Veteran's Administration and the Social Security Administration disabled me.

2010-2019

I did some freelance web develment as well as a lot of photography during this decade. Toward the end of the decade, however, I started having health problems and ended up with two back surgeries and a neck surgery.

2020-Present

The past several years I've not done much of anything. I don't even drive anymore.

I have been so lucky over these many years to have seen the things that I've seen, to have done the things that I have done, and to have known the people that I have met. I'm very lucky to have the family that I have had and to have been friends with some very good people.
